FAQ

Before you choose this trip

Is Shangri-La too high for a first Yunnan trip?

The route gains altitude gradually. We keep the first Shangri-La evening light and can substitute lower-altitude stops if needed.

Can this trip start in Lijiang?

Yes. We can reverse or shorten the route around your flights, although Kunming is the smoothest start for gradual acclimatization.

Is the Stone Forest worth the detour?

For a first trip, it adds a landscape unlike Dali or Lijiang and works efficiently as a full-day outing from Kunming.
